I don't think I've ever heard New Englanders in any context described as ferocious. (Connecticut native here.)
The rep about "east coast" GD audiences comes mainly from New York, I always figured. Surely not from New Englanders. We are reticent and uptight.

Have to agree. Hard to be ferocious while you're perusing the latest LL Bean catalog. But I have seen one or two melee's erupt at the Outlet Store in Freeport. THAT can be ugly.

"Drop that Blucher!!! I saw it first!!!"
"No you didn't, you pretentious Republican!!! I have claimed this shoe in the name of the button down-ed uptight minions of Concord!!!"
"Screw you, Izon wearer. This shoe is mine...now if I can only find the other one..."

I'm thinking you guys did NOT spend enough time in Boston. I've read some hilarious reviews on this site by out-of-towners regarding the rowdy Boston crowds - I don't have any more time to look for them today, but when I find 'em I will link them back here for your amusement.

I only saw the boys in Boston proper in 91. As I recall the crowd wasn't too bad. Now, if it was Bruins game, it was a different story.

I usually preferred the places just outside of the city, like Harper's Ferry (heard it's shutting down, that is a loss).

We from the Constitution State have such glowing words to describe our state.
